So much thanks to bride Jessica Swingle for compiling this AMAZING info to help others who are looking for a great place to get married in VA Beach!
Thank you Jessica, I know this will be helpful and so appreciated!! WOW!
1) Contemporary Art Center- http://www.cacv.org/facility/index.asp -Very artsy, trees indoors, beautiful high ceilings with a skylight, lots of light, pick your own caterer and bring your own alcohol; pricey if booking on a Saturday
2) Lesner Inn Catering Club- http://www.lesnerinn.com/-On the water, open to a dock for great pictures, nice staircases with light for pictures, much less expensive but still nice
3) Founder’s Inn and Spa- http://www.foundersinn.com/ -Beautfiul venue- gorgeous gardens outside for a ceremony, ballroom inside for reception- very pricey (because you have to go with their catering service and per person starts to really add up!)
4) The Cavalier Hotel(s)- http://www.cavalierhotel.com/ (there are 2- an old one and a new one on the oceanfront) -Old one has beautiful gardens and an “old-world” style ballroom; pretty but not for a contemporary style wedding
5) Chrysler Museum- http://www.chrysler.org/rentals.asp – Huge, columned room with impressive double staircases; great except you have to have a wedding coordinator, go with their caterer, and is also expensive for a Saturday. Huge room, so if guest list is smaller, might be too big actually!
6) Virginia Beach Convention Center- http://www.vbfun.com/conventionCenter/ -Very contemporary place to get married! Beautiful lighted rooms and a huge ballroom that can seat hundreds. Lots of different rooms to pick from; have to go with their catering service
7) Norfolk Botanical Gardens- http://www.norfolkbotanicalgarden.org/facility-rental -Beautiful indoors and out (extensive gardens, rose garden, etc). A few different rooms to choose from indoors and a large “rain backup”- if want an outdoor wedding- can’t get much better than this! Pricey!
There are also a lot of country clubs and nice hotels. The hotels on the oceanfront are beautiful and if someone wanted a beach wedding, the hotels are nearby for a great reception.
