Relay For Life | VA lifestyle photographer

I had the privilege of being the photographer for the Relay for Life in Northern VA this May.  While I have lost 3 members of my family I have not experienced a death due to cancer.  I had not been aware of  the Relay for Life until a photographer friend told me about it and asked If I would be willing to document the day.  I really felt compelled to give my time and services and I am so glad I did.  I met so many wonderful passionate people.  It was a fun filled  day but not without touching moments and an occasional tear including my own!

They all work so hard all year to raise funds and awareness and this was a celebration of all their hard work not to mention one more day of crazy fun- fund raising.

I think what I  loved and what touched me the most was  how much they encourage and support those who are suffering with the effects cancer right now. How much they celebrated with those who had beaten cancer and are now cancer free!  And how they remembered and honored  loved ones who have since passed on.

I was also impressed to see so many people walking!  From the very young to the very old, mothers to be and even people on crutches!! Many walked into the night and through the night! It was really amazing and a powerful testimony of their good hearts and dedication.

Many of the vendors gave all their proceeds of the day back to the cancer society. Greg Prescott of Lake ridge Entertainment is in his 8th year of DJ-ing and he rocked us out all day!  Reid Bailey of Video Traditions donated his time and is creating a video of the event along with touching interviews. The employees of Nathan’s Dairy Bar from Manassas donated their time and 100% the proceeds from selling ice cream! Mack, the owner of Kona Ice , was there as well giving of their time and earnings and The Hair Cuttery gave haircuts for $10.00 each and donated their proceeds as well! These are just to name a few as there were many contributing people and businesses that helped raise much needed funds.

If you would like more information or would like to make a donation Please visit  their website Relay for Life.  You can also find them on Facebook .

Many Thanks to everyone for their kindness and special thanks to Chuck and Laura Wilkinson for all your help, encouragement and new friendship!

XOXO Nancy

Hear are just a few from the day.

Jessica | VA LIFESTYLE PORTRAIT PHOTOGRAPHER

Sneek peek of Jessica’s College photos.  Jessica wanted more than a quick school photo, she wanted a full of fun experience and I believe we did just that!  Jessica was so easy going and she stole my heart the first time I met her.

Lots of sneak Peeks this month… remember to check back to see more later.

Love you Jessica!! XOXOXO

Troy and Maryanne | Va wedding Photographer

Sneak Peek!!

Maryanne is an event planner and to my delight, very much into details!   She had so many details in her wedding that had significant meaning and touches from the past.  She and Troy decided on a Southern Style wedding and it was beautiful to say the least!

Maryanne had a beautiful gown and the longest veil I have ever seen!  The girls sported gloves and hats… classic!

This couple quickly became dear to my heart and I was delighted to be apart of their house warming party. I truly felt like I was shooting a friends wedding which is just the way I like it!

I was privileged to have Aida Krgin and my daughter Denielle Warner with me and thought we made a great team . How fun it is to see what each other captured from our own artistic perspective.

Here is a Sneak Peek, I hope you check back for more.

XOXOXO Nancy

Maryanne and Troy took one of their engagement photos and had labels made.  Each one of their guests took home a bottle of wine. What a great gift!  I love this idea!!

Christy and John | Be Blessed| VA Beach photographer

This is my first Bellie (this is the way I like to spell it) shoot in VA beach and I was so excited!!  Christy and John were so adorable and so fun to be with.  They were even up to anything we threw at them including nippy ocean water!! lol.

Denielle and I worked together on this one.  She is so creative!! I love having her with me!

We shot inside and then headed to the beach.  These are two of many favorites!!  Just a “Sneak Peek” for now so stay tuned for more to come later. Thank you Christy and John for trusting us and being so open to all our ideas!  XOXOXO Nancy and Denielle

Thanks for Coming back to visit!! Here are a few more!!

DANE SANDERS DC FAST TRACK WORKSHOP | VA photographer

If you ever have an opportunity to be in the presence of Dane Sanders for any reason I would tell you to make sure you don’t miss it.   Dane is a Newport Beach wedding photographer, writer, coach and speaker not to mention really awesome person.

I had the privilege of reading his book  Fast Track Photographer and then attending one of his workshops.  It’s difficult to put in words the impact it had on my business and my personal life in just a few short days.  He  along with Bob and Dawn Davis (the first workshop I attended that rocked my world) cultivate within themselves an honest, caring openness to share whatever they can to help others be successful in their business. Because of who they are as individuals, they touch your personal life too.

Without a doubt, I would not be where I am today if I had not had an encounter with Bob and Dawn Davis and I am already changed through the impact that Dane made on my life just recently.   I look forward to implementing all he taught us to bring my business to a much higher and more efficient level.

We had an assignment to pair up and shoot one another.  Courtney was my partner.  I have to say it was the first time I had ever been in front of the lens so it was quite an experience.  Love Life Images hosted the workshop at Savage Mill and what a treat that was.  Here are a few images of the shoot and a couple of Dane:)

Bob, Dawn and Dane,  I love you guys and am so thankful you are a part of my life.  Many blessings to all of you and great success in your future ventures.
